TRUST YOUR GOD

What about your faith? Are you confident that your freedom from pornography will not be long in coming, or have you already given up? It may be that you have been trying for years to get out of your addiction and your faith has not grown as a result. But I would like to invite you to start a new attempt today and give your faith a new kick start.

"God saved you by his grace when you believed. And you can’t take credit for this; it is a gift from God."

EPHESIANS 2:8

Isn't that wonderful? By God's grace we have been given our freedom. We have done nothing to earn this. It is not out of our strength, but out of faith in our wonderful God. Say this out loud: "I believe you God that I am free from pornography by your grace! It is not my work, but yours, so that I may not boast." Why should you say these things out loud? There is a very simple law at work in us to which we are all subject to. We believe what we hear. Romans 10:17 says:

"So faith comes from hearing, that is, hearing the Good News about Christ."

ROMANS 10:17

Our faith arises and grows through what we hear. If we spend the whole day listening to our own thoughts telling us that we will never be free anyway, or what a bad person we are, then we will believe them at some point. But if you start to listen to the words of your God, you will see how quickly your faith will change and how strong it will become.

"Study this Book of Instruction continually. Meditate on it day and night so you will be sure to obey everything written in it. Only then will you prosper and succeed in all you do."

JOSHUA 1:8

When God's word no longer departs from our mouth, we will be totally successful. Is that what you want? To be successful? Then I suggest that you begin to make the Word of God your daily companion. Start proclaiming verses out loud and speak the truth of the Word into your own situation, because:

"And it is impossible to please God without faith. Anyone who wants to come to him must believe that God exists and that he rewards those who sincerely seek him. It was by faith that Noah built a large boat to save his family from the flood. He obeyed God, who warned him about things that had never happened before. By his faith Noah condemned the rest of the world, and he received the righteousness that comes by faith."

HEBREWS 11:6-7

But what exactly is faith?

"Faith shows the reality of what we hope for; it is the evidence of things we cannot see."

HEBREWS 11:1

Start believing your god that you're free. For he said, "Whom the Son sets free, is free indeed" John 8:36. Even if you do not yet experience, see or feel it. For we know that our faith is a trust in that whiich we do not yet see, but that is reality. I promise you that you will experience your freedom when you use God's Word to fight against your unbelief. Stand up and say out loud, "I am a believer! I believe my God that he freed me from pornography. I believe that I will possess the land of my freedom, and I wait for the word of John 8:36 to be fulfilled in my life. I will not stop believing in it, even if I still sin now and then. Sin cannot diminish my faith, for I will not let the Word of God depart from my mouth. For I am not saved from sin by my own power and by my "keeping me away", but by faith!

"And this same God who takes care of me will supply all your needs from his glorious riches, which have been given to us in Christ Jesus."

PHILIPPIANS 4:19

God will give you your freedom! When the Israelites explored the Promised Land for the first time, there were only two spies who trusted the words of God that they would take the Promised Land. These two were Joshua and Caleb. The others said it was impossible and made the people afraid. Both groups were right... But only Joshua and Caleb were later allowed to go into the promised land. The rest died in the 40 years that the people of Israel had to go through the desert, when he touched their eyes and said:

Then he touched their eyes and said, “Because of your faith, it will happen.”

MATTHEW 9:29

Because Joshua and Caleb believed, they were allowed to enter the promised land. Because the others did not believe, they died in the desert. Do you see now how important it is to believe? How many times have you caught yourself thinking that something must first happen and then you will be able to believe? This kind of thinking will kill you spiritually. Because our faith precedes the promises of the Bible. The Israelites were witnesses to the greatest miracles in human history and yet could not believe. They grumbled and doubted God again and again. Only those who already had strong faith and did not let the Word of God depart from their mouth were able to live out of the power of God and receive his promises. In the English King James Bible it says so aptly in Psalm 78:41...

„…, they turned back and tempted God, and limited the Holy One of Israel.“

PSALM 78:41

The Israelites turned their backs on God and did not believe him. They did not limit God in His omnipotence, but they limited what He did for them in their lives. For only by faith will we receive the promises. Will you make a decision today? Will you receive all the promises God has prepared for you? Do you finally want to be free of pornography? Then decide today not to let the Word of God part from your heart. Decide to give him more faith than your own thoughts, your friends, the media or the enemy. Take up your freedom in words. Proclaim it over your life and say again and again verses like John 8:36 about yourself: "Because Jesus set me free, I am free indeed! Speak the truth and see how it becomes reality in your life. For only the truth of God can strengthen your faith, and by faith you are delivered.

Verses for Proclamation:

"I publicly proclaim bold promises. I do not whisper obscurities in some dark corner. I would not have told the people of Israel to seek me if I could not be found. I, the Lord, speak only what is true and declare only what is right."

ISAIAH 45:19

"I tell you, you can pray for anything, and if you believe that you’ve received it, it will be yours."

MARK 11:24

"But when you ask him, be sure that your faith is in God alone. Do not waver, for a person with divided loyalty is as unsettled as a wave of the sea that is blown and tossed by the wind."

JAMES 1:6

"For we live by believing and not by seeing."

2 CORINTHIANS 5:7

"And it is impossible to please God without faith. Anyone who wants to come to him must believe that God exists and that he rewards those who sincerely seek him."

HEBREWS 11:6

"For you know that when your faith is tested, your endurance has a chance to grow."

JAMES 1:3

For every child of God defeats this evil world, and we achieve this victory through our faith.

1 JOHN 5:4

This Good News tells us how God makes us right in his sight. This is accomplished from start to finish by faith. As the Scriptures say, “It is through faith that a righteous person has life.”

ROMANS 1:17

"But joyful are those who have the God of Israel as their helper, whose hope is in the Lord their God. He made heaven and earth, the sea, and everything in them. He keeps every promise forever."
